JAPANESE 4 and AP – Seventh period


****AP Japanese practice test will take place at 5 p.m. on Saturday, May 1st, in room 114. We will order pizza and drinks to sustain us.*****



Class practiced various portions from “Strive for a Five” AP Japanese tests.

We compared the compare-and-contrast essays (Japanese language study versus study of science) and the text chat efforts (topic of graduation ceremonies) from last time – everyone’s efforts were printed up and handed out (with no names).

We listened to two conversations and attempted to answer:
“Strive for a Five” pages 138 and 139

Pages 168 and 169 in “Strive for a Five”、prepare to give a 2 minute speech

1.Noun + なら
Plain verb + なら

おかし なら 私 は チョコレート が 大好き です。
If it’s sweets, I love chocolate.
行くなら バス で 行く 方 が いい です。
If you go, it’s better to go by bus.

2.____たら

日本 へ 行ったら パスポート を 持って 行かなければ いけません。
When (if) you (will) go to Japan, you have to take a passport.

3.Potential form of verb, take off る , put on ば ―― This form is much more “iffy” and conditional in feeling

来る(くる)、来られば(こられば)
