INDEPENDENT STUDY JAPANESE

This class does not meet on Block Two days.





JAPANESE 1

Students took a pre-test, getting ready for real test on Chapter 7 of Kimono.

Handouts for writing the rest of the katakana syllables, ya through ng.

For homework, finish the handouts and STUDY FOR THE TEST.

JAPANESE 3

Collect homework comparative after、 after each person reads one out loud.

Listen to DOGGU/CONTESUTO story and discover form(s) for expressing the superlative.

Pattern sentences:

Field {の中}で Subject は 一番 Adjective (+ noun) です。

Homework: workbook pages 115 and 116


International Night will be Thursday night from 5 to 8. We need people for the origami-chopstick-calligraphy table. We also need people for the Japan Exchange table.







JAPANESE 2

Hand back test (copies) on Chapter 7 and discuss answers and grading.

2. verb and adjective stem-suffix –sugiru – pages 387 and 388 of first volume of Yookoso (Yookoso: Invitation…)—do activities 22 and 23 in class

Handout for AP only – complete AP kanji list (similar to the one handed out this fall, at the beginning of the course, and also to the one handed out just before school ended last summer)

Jpn 4 students, especially Schabes, are to develop target vocab list for up-coming test on NTND chapter 7

Students found live feed website through Google Japan – weather forecasting (audible and visible) on MSN in Japanese

Imaoka and Mui, who were absent when the rest of the AP class took the practice exercises for the upcoming AP, used the practice CD's today.

Reminder about previous Homework: Be able to respond verbally・orally to first five questions in NTND on page 73 (Roman numberal I, section A, 1-5)
