Finished reading Chapter 7 of “A Homestay in Japan,” from bottom of page 70 to the end.

Grammar Reminder Review:
New conjugation, the passive – use plain neg present form, take off ない。Then add れる{一番のクループ}、られる{二番のグループ}、Irregular する Becomes される and 来る{くる}becomes 来られる
We considered pages 270 to 272 , and exercise 25、 reviewed together.
Students were having problems with conjugational form, so we wrote 10 verbs in 1.plain/dictionary form, 2.ます、3.ない、and 4.passive form. Target verbs:
食べる、飲む、見る、する、使う、読む、立つ、来る、買う、起こす{おこす}
Example sequence with :
聞く、 聞きます、 聞かない、 聞かれる
かよう、 かよいます、 かよわない、 かよわれる
開ける、 開けます、 開けない、 あけられる
Active voice:
The thief killed the horse. どろぼう は 馬 を ころした。
Passive voice:
The horse was killed by the thief. 馬 は どろぼう に ころさ

2. Bring store signs and lists of products. We will practice shopping to get ready for "real" shopping on Friday. On Friday, be sure to have a set of models or pictures of the items each store will sell.
