Students changed seats so as to form different pairs from the usual and then worked together translating the following dialogue into English. Finish for homework. Ultimately we will memorize this dialogue.

田川: わたし は 田川 けいこ です。 どうぞ
よろしく。 けんじくん は スポーツ (supootsu=sports) が すき です か。

田川: そう です か。 チーム (chiimu=team) の (relational particle meaning "belonging to, of, or apostrophe s") なんばん です か。

JAPANESE 4 and AP – Seventh period

AP Japanese class students took kanji test today.
Then handout from 91/92　Resource materials: kanji and their categorizing portions, and handwritten seasonal greatings (with kanji)
Second handout regarding intentions, purposes, plans. On board in order from weaker to stronger:
I’m thinking about going to Japan. 　日本に行こうと思っています。
I intend to go to Japan.　日本に行くつもりです。
The plan is that I go to Japan.　日本に行く予定です。　
Listening:　Number 17 listening from Strive for Five：AP Japanese Practice Tests, a recorded announcement from a department store.

Japanese 4 students have 2 Nakama Ch 2 kanji – kanji quiz on Thursday. Also, Japanese 4 students will hand in のれん　on Thursday.

Thursday Jpn 4　and AP Japanese will look over:
90 to 93 in 2 Nakama. Arrange the manga on page 92 so that they fit the story on page 9２－９３．

Project for Japanese 4 students:
Make a のれん、a split curtain which is customarily hung in a restaurant. An example was shown from last year’s class. Noren must have decorations appropriate to the winter season, but MUST NOT reference Christmas in any way. Decorations appropriate to Japanese New Year are acceptable. Noren must be the width of the classroom door and may be long or short. Due date is October 22, 2009.
