Discussion of visit by Japanese students to Chicago in July, commemorating the 200 hundredth anniversary of President Lincoln’s birth. Host families were Goldberg, Krogh, Mine, Molasky, and Yamasaki.
We know that Pranee Pairs went to Japan this past summer with Youth for Understanding. She has not yet returned, but we look forward to learning about her experiences.

AP, be prepared to speak briefly about some aspects in Japanese.

Discussed AP summer flash card assignment.
Hand out Nakama 2 text to both AP and Jpn 4 students. We will try to go through the introductory review portion in 2 or 3 weeks.

All students, be prepared to speak briefly about summer vacation, in the way Sensei did about her trip to Australia.


Useful website for vocabulary: search for Denshi Jisho in Google, has vocab and also information on each kanji constituting a word.


REMINDER: we must realize something important. In doing high school assignments or college assignments or tasks out in the world, every　one of us should be trying to do the best and most complete work possible, not the least possible.
